Nalo's Notes: Pat McGrath Sweetens Up D&G Makeup Line

Dolce & Gabbana recently launched a new cosmetics line, Dolce & Gabbana, The Makeup.  The line was developed by legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath, who is also responsible for the innovative beauty behind brands like Giorgio Armani, Max Factor, and Cover Girl.

Now, Dolce and Gabbana is stepping up their sweet factor with McGrath's renowned skills. The line is enthused by the breathtaking Mediterranean coasts and Hollywood glamour.  It's a sexy and confident collection and McGrath gives ESSENCE.com the beauty dish on a few products made to enhance our brown beauty.

PATS PICK I

Smooth Eye Colour Duo In Gold, $36.00, saks.com

"The eye shadows are richly pigmented and can be used sparingly as a subtle, shimmering highlight or with a slightly damp brush for more intense, bold metallic effects on the eyelid.  The duo has a deep bronzy gold and a brighter true gold which work beautifully together," says McGrath. "A great way to wear the duo is to use the lighter gold on the inner half of the eyelid, deeper bronze on outer half; blended together in the center of the lid. This can be done with a dry applicator, then with a damp brush, dab a small amount of the brighter gold shadow to the inner corners of the eyes.  The effect is dazzling, sexy, and so complementary to darker skin tones."

PATS PICK II

Ultra Shine Lipgloss In Dahlia, $30.00, saks.com

"Most all of the (lip gloss) colors look fantastic on dark skin, but my very favorite has to be Dahlia. It is a rich burgundy gloss shot with sparkling gold flecks for an undeniably sexy pout. These glosses can all be worn on their own, with or without pencil or even on top of lipstick," shares McGrath.  "It's formulated for hours of wear, and a smooth silky texture that stays where you put it. Once you have worn one of these amazing glosses, you will want to try them all!"
