Design opulence and glamour describes the artistic presentation of Chicago-based designer Maria Pinto, who showed for the first time in New York at the Banchet in the stylish Meat Packing District. Pinto's designs were so breathtaking that when you glanced at the models it was as though you were taking part in a picturesque cinematic moment. Inspired by the Argentine Tango, Pinto fused "raw sensuality and tension" into the creation of these wonderfully dramatic gowns and cocktail dresses that dripped in vibrant colors of emotion. I can't wait for Pinto to return to New York next season, because if she can put so much heart and soul into a presentation, who knows what she'll bring to the runway−more brilliance.
