Hello I'm a parent of one of the children in Excellence Charter School. My son attends there and he is in the first grade. His name is Derek, Xavier, Ellison Jr. He is an excellent scholar and he shows brotherhood to his fellow class mates even when he is not chosen. I luv the way the principal runs his staff and the children. He is a great inspiration for the boys and I wish their were more like him. (Mr. Sawicki.) I thought it was gonna be a challenge for him to teach the boys but he prove that their can be change like another Barack Obama.
These letters are simply priceless, beautiful. Our new president has captured the hearts and minds of the very young in a way that no president before him ever has.
If I were this administrator of this charter school, I would publish these into a book. These letters should be preserved.

I am from Bed- Stuy Brooklyn and Jelani is my God-Son, Iam so happy that Esscence chose the school "Excellence" to show their letters to President Obahma. This school as well as others like is the foundation that is currently housing our future. These young gentlemen are our next leaders, doctors, lawyers, politicians and president!!!! Way to GO "Excellence" And I am proud of you Jelani!!!!!
I am a proud ECS mother. Knowing these young men is a pleasure. The letters posted by Essence were such a joy to read.
