she should have waited until her daughter was grown to pursue this path. her daughter should not have had to experience such racism and hatred. a mother wants to protect her young. i don't get it.

What does she mean by, "I did it to serve my God and my people"? Who the heck are her people'? And what does she think of the anti-black racism in the Talmud - isn't she bothered by that? And where does she stand on the Palestinian issue? Excuse me for saying so, but the sistah is a bit confused. I'll stick to christianity and the Black Church.

Wow. Great story, Essence. I don't see too many African-Americans converting to Judism any time soon but it's a thought. Congrats on here remarkable journey.
