A South Carolina Priest Tells Obama Supporters Not To Take Communion

For some Obama supports in Greenville, South Carolina, who attend St. Mary’s Catholic Church their political choice seem to have had a consequence to their spiritual life. Resident priest, the Reverend Jay Scott told members, who voted for President-elect Barack Obama not to take communion. In a letter issued Sunday to parishioners, Scott explained “that they are putting their souls at risk if they take Holy Communion before penance for their vote,” reports the Associated Press.

He went on to say, “voting for a pro-abortion politician when a plausible pro-life alternative exits constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil, and those Catholics who do so place themselves outside of the full communion of Christ's Church and under the judgment of divine law.”

Hilarious, but it's okay for the catholic church to allow and defend their preist who since forever have MOLESTED BOYS!!!!!! I guess its better to acknowledge the catholic church as PRO-MOLESTERS

Unfortunately that type of attitude still exists in the south and will probably rule there for a very long time. Remember this is a place where a man of color is still called a boy. I moved away from S.C. some six years ago in search of a better life for my family. It is that type of ignorance that will keep me from ever going back to live there. Pride not prejudice? Try ignorance!

this is crazy. I wonder if he issued the same statement to the catholic priests that molest boys for years and the catholic church continued to protect them. I wonder if he issued the same statement to individuals that supported Bush. Because he has done nothing in his eight years in office that would have affected Roe vs. Wade (and he is suppose to be prolife).
