Not everyone views the world like Derek Blanks. The photographer who documented the alter egos photo shoot featuring the cast of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" teamed up with NeNe Leakes a year ago and began to use her as one of his muses. It was then that he began the alter ego series and decided that the insanely popular Georgia peaches would be perfect to add to his photo exhibit.

"The ladies were fun to work with, and I have to say Kandi's is my favorite of them all," says Blanks. "We didn't have to do any editing to her face because it's like she went back to the moment of the accident."

Blanks, a graduate of Maryland Institute College, married his love for illustration, photography and graphic art to create the surreal imagery that makes him a Hollywood fave.

"Photography is instant gratification, and you can see your work within seconds where as painting might take 30 to 40 [seconds]," Blanks explains. "On top of that I get to do what I love and meet interesting people and the travel the country."

To date he has nearly 60 images that he's captured of celebs as their better or not-so- better halves, and for those eager to see more of his artistic eye, he plans to complete his first tabletop book of alter egos by the end of the year.--KNB
