Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter wed his longtime girlfriend Beyonce Knowles on Friday, April 4, in what industry insiders call an intimate ceremony, inviting only close family and friends.

Both reps for the mega stars have not released official statements confirming the wedding, but a source close to Jay-Z who attended the exclusive affair would only say that the couple "were unbelievably happy."

While there are no reports of what designers the bride and groom wore, guests arrived in cream or winter white. Reported attendees included Beyonce's parents -- mom and stylist Tina Knowles, dad and manager, Matthew Knowles -- as well as sister Solange Knowles, former Destiny Child's members Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland, and friends Gywenth Paltrow and Chris Martin (from Coldplay).

Anyone associated with the wedding details, including stylists, was asked to sign confidentiality agreements. Not surprising given the couples unified choice to remain mum on discussing their romance.

"I never talked about relationships," Beyonce told ESSENCE in October 2005. "I only talk about them in my songwriting; otherwise things get too messy. It has worked out because now nobody expects me to talk about them. But it's hard too," she admitted. "You fall in love and you want to tell everybody. But that's a place I just don't go."
