The Black Women's Guide to What's Hot Now!

Kandi Burruss Dishes on 'Housewives' and Plans for New Boutique

As if "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" costar Kandi Burruss doesn't already have her hands full as a Grammy-winning songwriter and singer, she's about to make her foray into the world of fashion.

In October, the mocha beauty will open the doors of TAGS, a unisex boutique located in South Atlanta's section of  The Vinings. Despite her monetary success, the single mother of three admits she's a frugal spender.

"I like to shop within a budget," Burruss told ESSENCE.com. "So the clothes will look expensive but be affordable."

Burruss plans to team with Peaches, a veteran boutique owner, who will manage the day-to-day operations. "I don't want it to be about me," says Burruss. "Fashion-forward women and men will be able to find something they like without breaking the bank."

During a visit to ESSENCE's New York office, the reality star and single mom revealed one of the slogans that she and her partner are strongly considering: "Pop Bottles. Pop Cherries. Pop Tags." Well, alrighty then.—KNB

I have to agree with Missy on this @Raina keep in mind its those type of broke down displays that keep black men out our face and us accepting the A.J's of the world respect and accept what she said which was extremely powerful. that she is aware of how the situation can be perceived but she knows her man.. so unless you have backdoor access to her life watch how you judge and i would love to see the mop on your head while you rendering critique to her hair be proud it all belongs to her!! if you have nothing uplifting and motivating to say quiet is okay to. to Kandi i applaud you for remaining a lady thru all of the things that came your way and want to see if you will take on more acting because you were the BOMB on the stage. keep doing GOD'S will for you and your not a reality star your a representation of REAL BLACK WOMEN. BE BLESSED

@ RAINA ~~~ Some things are better left unsaid, okay, girlfriend....i.e, your entire post was totally unnecessary. While you are certainly entitled to your opinion, was it necessary for you to say what you did, especially at this time, while this young lady is experiencing such hurt in her life. You sound like a true hater...rock on Kandi, FLY ABOVE. Love, Missy ( a true fan )
