'Ordinary People:' Will Sitcom Be the New Cosby Show?

The new fall TV season is underway, but studios are already developing potential shows for next year. According to the Hollywood Reporter, NBC is developing a African-American comedy series tentatively called "Ordinary People," which is described as "Mad About You" meets "The Cosby Show." The plot centers around a young buppie couple with four kids; the husband, a former music reporter, becomes a stay-at-home columnist and his family must adjust. The show is co-created by Kenya Barris, who helped developed "America's Next Top Model," and its partially based on his real-life experiences. -CM
