Black Women Filmmakers: See Who's Making News

The International Black Women's Film Festival returns to California's Bay Area Friday July 17 through July 19. The event will kick off with the presentation of "Say My Name" - a film about women in hip-hop - at the Oakland Museum of California, according to SFgate.com. "There aren't a lot of outlets, especially for black women filmmakers, and films that feature black women as whole people. We're trying to be there for people who are struggling and emerging," says festival founder and curator Adrienne Anderson.
