Black Miss France: 'Racial Fear Is a Waste of Time'

 

Chloe Mortaud, 19, isn't the first non-White to win Miss France but she is the first to talk openly about race. Mortaud, whose mother is a Mississippi-born African-American and father is French, tells the Associated Press that she wants to explain to people that "fear of the other is unfounded," especially since the air of racism still exists against African immigrants from former French colonies.
