The Last Word From McCain Country

John McCain and Sarah Palin arrived at the Arizona Biltmore to address the crowd. It was not the news they waited for hours to hear. McCain informed them Barack Obama won the presidency after the longest campaign in U.S history.

Boos and chants were heard throughout the crowd. McCain gave thanks to his wife, mother and dear friends for their support. He also thanked Sarah Palin. McCain urged all Americans to join and congratulate President-Elect Barack Obama and come together as fellow Americans. "African-Americans have something to be very proud off," said McCain. Linda S. of Phoenix, a McCain supporter, shared her thoughts on the Republican incumbent. “He is a very good man, a wonderful man. I am obviously disappointed. I just hope that the country can come together, but I am afraid that this will divide it."

I share the view of the writer; however the country was already divided prior to this election. Just reference back to the OJ case this was a prime example of how divided we truly are and were. The election once again showed the color barrier is still live and well. Electing O'Bama for president will certainly force people to see people of color in a different light and understand a change is happening and it feels good!

Nice article, although I disagree with the McCain supporter. In my opinion, the country was already divided. I believe that President O'Bama will bring this country together in a way that no other President has. At this point we can only look up.
